Tuesday Tutorial: SEO Tune-up

Happy Tuesday all!

If you are like me, the mechanics of tuning up your website for optimal SEO is overwhelming and daunting. I have no clue what those “experts” are saying half the time. And with Google changing the rules so often and so fast….well, I just throw my hands up. And to be TOTALLY honest with you, I don’t really want to learn all the rules. I would rather use my time in other areas of my business. But since we all know how important Google ranking is, I wanted to share a helpful tool I came across that has improved my website dramatically. It is called SEO Quake. While this is not a complete replacement for all of your SEO needs, it will help identify areas of your site that are in good shape and parts that need attention. It even tells you in layman’s terms how critical the issue is, what it means and how to fix it. And it is FREE!Screen Shot 2013-10-15 at 6.36.46 PMScreen Shot 2013-10-15 at 6.37.41 PM

The other amazing thing is it allows you to not only diagnose your website, but ALL websites. Ever wonder why your competition ranks better than you? With this software you can see what areas they are strong in (and where they are weak). Pretty cool, huh? Once installed, you can enable and disable it with a click of a button (it stays docked on your toolbar). I have to admit it got a little annoying looking at all of the information it produces all the time.

SEO Quake is a great starting place for people with a limited budget, knowledge, or are just short on time. Give it a whirl and see how you are doing on your SEO report card.
