This will be my second year in business as a boudoir photographer. Before this I was a wedding photographer at a different business.
In high school I took a class for film photography. That was 10years before I started shooting with a digital and learning digital and photoshop/lightroom has been a real pain in the ass, but so worth it!
Yes and no. I wanted to be a nurse, but I have always loved photography. So I had to choose which one I loved more, and well photography won!
I love boudoir. I love the way it makes each of my clients feel. I love the way they look at themselves in disbelief, and cry when they finally see how stunning they truly are.
If you knew someone who wanted to be a photographer, and could give them one piece of important advice, what would that be?
My advice would be to do everything you can, and practice before you jump into "owning" a business.
Have you ever done a boudoir session yourself, if you are a female (sorry guys 🙂 ? Do you think it's something that is important for female boudoir photographers to do?
Not yet, I am hoping to this year! I think every boudoir photographer NEEDS to have their own done!
How do you feel about the male / female debate regarding boudoir photographers?
I guess I don't have an opinion on it. I do find some guys to be creepy in those Facebook groups, and yet they call themselves boudoir photographers...yet I've seen some females comment some really creepy things on photos of men. So I guess if they're professional and truly work at what they're doing then YAY for men boudoir photographers
What do you do to avoid burn-out? Is there ever a time when you just want to throw your camera out the window?
I don't. I got burned out 3x last year. I took a week off to veg in front of the tv and binge on some Netflix Shows. That's me handling the burn out.
What do you love about the business?
I love working, I love shooting, and creating stunning images, and learning more, and most of all I love working with amazing women.
What do you hate about the business?
I HATE the business side of it all, but I have OCD, and I could never trust anyone to do the business side the way I want it done so I'm stuck doing it lol. I also hate how competitive this industry can be and how spiteful some are, and so cliquey.
Are you a member of any professional photo organizations like PPA, WPPI? What benefit do you feel you get by being a member?
Nope nothing like that!
Do you compete and do you have any opinions on it? AIBP runs contests regularly. Do you participate? If not, is there a reason you don’t?
Yes I do, just because otherwise I don't share my images with groups. I have entered into a few of AIBP's contest and won a few of them.

In my life, my parents inspire me the most. Both my moms have gone through cancer and continues to fight it every day. They've inspired me in so many ways. In my work there's two photographers I love but the one who's work inspires me the most is Lindsay Rae D'Ottavio.
If you could provide one single piece of advice to influence a young person's direction in life, what would that be
NEVER choose a path based off someone else. Create your own path and if they're meant to be in your life, their path will cross yours.
