We are happy to announce this week’s winner AIBP Weekly Choice Image Competition sponsored by UAF Photo Lab.
We are pleased to have Tanya Smith judging this week.
Tanya has been a women’s portrait photographer since 2011 and fell in love with how a boudoir session can change the way a woman sees herself. She owns and operates Tanya Smith Photography based out of Hamilton Ontario, Canada.
Since 2017, Tanya has been mentoring and coaching other boudoir photographers one-on-one who want to grow their business. Her online business education, Profitable Portraits, has helped hundreds of portrait photographers from all over the world, in every genre, grow and scale their own businesses.
And the Weekly Choice Winner is…..
This week’s winner is Kara Dunn of Midnight Sun Boudoir located in Manchester, PA.
Tanya selected this winning image because, “The colors and tones are beautiful. Love the depth of field where the focus is on the details of the lingerie – editing of the skin is very well done, and texture of the skin is maintained. The hairstyle is an unexpected fresh change from traditional boudoir images.”
1st runner up this week is Lea Flores owner of Lea Flores Photography based in Colorado.
Tanya’s comments on this image “I am always a sucker for a classic boudoir pose. This one is executed perfectly, and the B&W conversion is well done- I like the crop of the face, and keeping the nose and lips in the frame keeps the image anonymous without looking like a cut off head.”
2nd runner up is Shalon Bourdase of I Am Boudoir based in Fresno, CA.
Tanya’s felt this image is “An erotic image, but it’s implied with a wonderful and creative use of shadows and light that directs the eyes without giving away details. The pose and emotion is well done.”
Congratulations to the Weekly Choice Image Competition sponsored by UAF Photo Lab winner Midnight Sun Boudoir! Congratulations also to the runner up images from Lea Flores Photography & I Am Boudoir. We look forward to seeing more amazing work from you and more AIBP members!

This week’s choices were selected by Shawn Black of Couture Black based out of Boston, MA. He has been photographing boudoir for over 8 years and is the President of AIBP. He is looking forward to continuing to push the boudoir genre forward.
And the Weekly Choice Winner is…..
Congratulations to Laura Robinson from Ellarre Boudoir based in Minneapolis, MN.
Shawn’s comments on this photo “This image reminds me of the art hanging in our suite at the Cosmopolitan hotel in Vegas. It is striking. I love the very slim focal plane that includes the cuffs and the texture on her skin before rapidly falling off. The lighting is exquisite in both accentuating her curves and drawing the eye to the highlighted details in the frame. Lastly the choice to leave texture in the retouch is perfect.”
1st runner up this week is Jess Goins from SBB Studios.
Shawn’s thoughts on this image. “The lighting in this image to create the implied nude is perfectly executed. The subtle highlights along her ribs and breast to provide detail and shape add to the stark contrast between the black and white extremes. I also appreciate getting to see her expression and just a hint of her eyes. ”
2nd runner up this week is Stephanie Nivens from Boudoir Unleashed based in Nashville, TN.
Shawn’s comments “The foreground elements that obstruct the view offer a voyeuristic feel to this image which pairs well with her expression and pose. The lighting is nice where here face is the focus, but it all displays her ink nicely.”
Congratulations to the Weekly Choice Image Competition sponsored by UAF Photo Lab winner Ellarre Boudoir! Congratulations also to the runner up images from SBB Studios & Boudoir Unleashed. We look forward to seeing more amazing work from you and more AIBP members!

And the Weekly Choice Winner is…..
The winning image is from Bobby Linton from Lens and Lace Boudoir based in Monroe, GA.
Marietta’s comments on the winning image “The composition was good and so was the pose and positioning. I especially liked the play with light against what seems like and open window. Skin editing was very natural, and the BW conversion was not overly dramatic which added to the sultriness of the image without being overpowering. She is sexy and sensual!”
1st runner up is Kara Dunn from Midnight Sun Boudoir based in Manchester, PA.
Marietta’s thoughts on this image. “There is something to be said about expression and not many photographers can convey vulnerability correctly. I liked that her eyes told a story. There was profound feeling in the depths of the image and yet there was no direct eye contact in it. There is something profound it in the way she looks.”
2nd runner up goes to Maria Ruscitti from La Luna Boudoir based in Connecticut.
Marietta’s comments on this image: “It’s a very well-conceived concept that really plays with the greenery and available prop colors. I especially like the posing accentuating her most delicate and sensual features by playing with depth of field and lighting. The use of complimentary colors in her makeup also make it stand out. I love her parted lips.”

The winning image is from photography team of Christie Conyer & Ashley Layden from Modern Muse Studio based in Oklahoma City OK.
Shawn selected this image because “The raw sensuality is what first drew me in to this image, their emotion is balanced perfectly with the pose. I love the lighting with a stark contrast from their porcelain skin to the dark environs of the shot. Finally the retouch is beautiful creating a signature look to the image.”
1st runner up is Kristen McKay from Kristen McKay Photo based out of Bangor ME.
Shawn’s comments on this image “The simplicity in this image is what makes it stand out. It is beautifully light and I especially like the incorporation of the shadow on the wall into the frame. Lastly the skin work is beautiful as I appreciate when all texture is not removed.”
2nd runner up this week is Renee Lee of Be.Boudoir based in Adelaide, Australia.
Shawn’s thoughts on this image “The vintage film look to this image completes the overall feel where the subject is wearing a glam Hollywood style robe with hair and make up to match. All the elements in this image all come together begging to see the next frame on the roll of film.”

This week’s winner is Brianna Ellis of Brianna Lane Boudoir based in Minnesota & Western Wisconsin.
Tanya’s comments on this image. “Love the classic boudoir pose, but the attention to detail in this one is well done, from the hair & make up, to the position of her hands, her relaxed face and choice of earrings. Lighting and editing is well done. This is a pose that will work for anyone. I’m also a sucker for “formal lingerie” (with garters and stockings).”

We are happy to announce this week’s winner AIBP Weekly Choice Image Competition sponsored by UAF Photo Lab.
Our judge this week is Nino Batista.
Ron “Nino” Batista is a photographer, writer, musician and overall creative whose work is regularly seen in lifestyle publications the world over.
He is regarded as the premier model photography, retouching and artist development coaching educator based in the United States. Nino is also a Sponsored Educator with UAF Photo Lab.
“Beauty is beauty, and often frighteningly subjective. However, the perception of strength is directly objective. When an image comes across as strong, as powerful, there is something more to the shot than simply beauty. For me, beauty is the delivery as I enjoy experiencing it, but strength is the intent as I enjoy capturing it.”
And the Weekly Choice Winner is…..
Winning image this week is from Romain Deprick of Maestro VII based out of Orange County.
Nino’s comments on this image, “First off, white on white in studio is always tricky, and this is technically perfect in that regard. I love how it’s initially an editorial shot in my eye, until I noticed lingerie around the ankles. Playful and sophisticated.”
1st runner up is photography duo Christie Conyer & Ashley Layden of Modern Muse Studio based in Oklahoma City, OK
Nino’s comments, “Lighting shaping is perfect. The anonymous element is also appealing, plus the focal length selection. It all comes together ideally here.”

Nino’s comments on this image “This one is all about mood. The vibe and expression are just right, and the rawness of the image is what sells it so well.”

And the Weekly Choice Winner is…..
Winning image this week is from Laura Robinson of Ellarre Boudoir based near Minneapolis, MN.
Ashley’s comments. “This image is such a beautiful depiction of women as goddesses. I love the softness of her downward gaze and the loving feel she has, yet the incredible power that she holds as her body creates a brand new life. The light and the colors, and tones of this image is so life giving. What a beautiful celebration that this photo holds. I love the varying textures in this photo but how they all go so perfectly together and don’t become a distraction in this image.”
1st runner up image is from Kristina Daugherty of KJBoudoir based in Chesterfield, VA.
Thoughts from Ashley, “This image speaks to me with the great use of light and shadows. It is intriguing and mysterious, yet still manages to share so much beauty. The use of lines draw my attention to the subject rather than take away. I really love the editing and tones of this image as well.”
2nd runner up is Linda Michele-Dobel from LMD Boudoir & Women’s Fine Portraiture based in Brighton, MI.
Ashley’s comments on this image. “I absolutely love the natural beauty in this image. The subject’s gaze is so striking. I also love the placement of the tank top, and the messy hair. Her eyes are what attracted me to this image as they are so beautiful.”

And the Weekly Choice Winner is…..
Scott Pierson of Magicc Imagery.
Kiati’s thoughts on the winning image, “I love everything about this image: the use of light and shadows to sculpt the body perfectly, The composition in the angle/height the image was shot along with the use of negative space compliments the strength of the pose of the subject, the set design of the scene is elegant and not overly complex to add but not draw away from the overall image and finally the tones and style of the editing provided the right balance of softness and texture to create a wonderful piece of art. Chef’s kiss!”
1st runner up is Layra Marte from Layra Marz Photography based in Brooklyn, NY.
Kiati’s comments on this image, “I love how the simple elegance of this image still says so much. Technically, I love how the shades of white and grey frames the subject, how the leading lines draws you in to her path, and the capture of her step at the right moment compliments the curves of her body and the intent of her movement. This image is could totally be a scene from the Miss Dior commercial…and you? What would you do for love?”
2nd runner up is Jess Goins of SBB Studios.
Kiati felt “The moody tones and the symmetry are what initially drew me to this image. Then it was the pose that really made this image stand out for me. I love how the right arm and face created parallel lines while the left leg counterbalances the pose yet still created the line parallel to the face and right arm. Shooting and working with reflections with a mirror this size is not always easy and I love how the highlights in the window framed the body perfectly to draw your focus on the subject.”
Congratulations to the Weekly Choice Image Competition sponsored by UAF Photo Lab winner, Magicc Imagery. Congratulations to the runner ups, Layra Marz Photography & SBB Studios.. We look forward to seeing more amazing work from you and more AIBP members!
